Montréal
We are very pleased to have hosted a Youth Centre from Jambes (Belgium), named MJ Jambes, as part of a project to prevent social polarization among young people. During these two days, we were able to discuss how to create meeting spaces to understand the phenomenon of radicalization leading to violence among young people through activities, meetings and presentations with professionals at the Centre for the prevention of radicalization leading to violence (CPRLV), in Montreal.
Also, we would like to thank the Forum Jeunesse de Saint-Michel for hosting us with the MJ Jambes in their neighbourhood for exchanges and activities. The objective was to compare the reality of young people’s prejudices and stereotypes in their environment, as well as to open a listening space to discuss identity issues. This meeting allowed the young people to compare the actions being carried out in Montreal and Jambes to counter violent extremism among young people.
