The winners of the contest What If I Was Wrong in Montreal
The group that won the prize for the art contest What If I Was Wrong were in Montreal to meet some of the campaign’s collaborators. The winners were the Wendigo Cultural Collective (https://www.facebook.com/ccwendigo/), a group of young people who came together by this collective, with the aim of producing varied and original artistic projects. In addition to exchanging with some of the campaign’s creators about their winning art work, the video “Desideratum”, they took part in a public talk that gave them the opportunity to explain a little more about the work’s artistic approach.
This short film was created by Charles Émond (member of the collective), who tells the story of a young woman who has to face her remorse. She remembers when she was in elementary school and there was a little girl in her class who was despised by everyone because she was wearing the veil. Recalling her childhood, the protagonist notices that racism was instilled in her by her parents because she only acted according to their reactions.
The campaign is very happy to have met the winners. Once again, congratulations!
